Home of the Corinthians Football Club (which plays in the Eastern Local Football Association leagues) and the Joburg City Youth Academy (which plays in the Men’s Regional League – SAFA Ekurhuleni Gauteng, part of the SAFA Men’s Regional League which season begins each year in September and runs until the end of the season when the National Championships are played).

The Greek Sporting Club is situated in the suburb of Senderwood, Bedfordview in Johannesburg, next to SAHETI School and is easily accessible from the N3 highway. It has its own water supply and ample secure parking with private guarding and only one access point.

Many dedicated members of the community were involved in establishing the Greek Sporting Club dating back to 1958. In the clubs more recent history the club has needed to adapt to the changing circumstances in South Africa and the fact that many Hellenes have emigrated.

Our Facilities

This football club has over 25 competitive teams, catering for players from 6 years old to 35 years old and over. Facilities comprise:

  • 4 Full football fields plus the junior Under 6 field;
  • A Netball club with 2 dual purpose tennis and netball courts;
  • A basketball court and 2 dual purpose tennis and netball courts;
  • A restaurant and banqueting area with a fun playground, a full kitchen that caters for all cuisines and parties;
  • Alleyway Gym;
  • 5 a-side 3rd generation artificial grass football court;
  • Jeeks, playground and party venue; and
  • The Pan Hellenic Voice, a Greek radio station which broadcasts from the property and has their offices on the property.

The Greek Sporting Club was initially formed as a Hellenic Community Club, but with time, has transformed into a club serving all the communities which reside in the surrounding areas. It forms part of a greater property incorporating SAHETI school as per the picture below:
